As a photographer, I found myself growing weary of capturing the same old scenes, time and time again. The thrill of discovery was fading, and I yearned for new landscapes to ignite my creativity. That’s when I stumbled upon a game-changer: the National Park Service Veteran Lifetime Pass. As a veteran, I applied and soon held the golden ticket to endless natural wonders in my hands for free. But here’s the best part: you don’t have to be a veteran to unlock these treasures. Teachers, students, first responders, and seniors can also get special passes. Inspired, I expanded my collection with a State Park annual pass and a membership to the local art museum.

One of the nearby state parks even granted me a gate code for after-hours access. This was a dream come true, as I had been longing to capture the Milky Way without the interference of light pollution from the town. The excitement of this new opportunity was palpable.
